Honey Almond Granola

8 cups organic rolled oats
1 cup unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup raw, slivered almonds

2/3 cup expeller or cold pressed peanut or canola oil
1/2 cup honey
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all dry ingredients in large bowl.
Mix oil and honey in measuring cup. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir well. Stir in vanilla.
Stir gradually into oats mixing well after each addition. Spread over 2 cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes then stir well. Bake an additional 5-10 minutes. WATCH closely as it will burn easily. Add raisins or dried cranberries if you wish. Store in airtight container

 

Summer Smoothies

Strawberry-Cantaloupe

½ Cup Cantaloupe cut into cubes
½ Cup Strawberries
8oz. lowfat milk
2 T. Nourishake Strawberry, Vanilla or Tropical Fruit

Approximate Nutritional Boost: 2600 IU pro-vitamin A & 100mg Vitamin

Apricot-Strawberry

2 Apricots
½ cup Strawberries
8 oz. vanilla flavored soy milk
2 T. Super Ease vanilla or Nourishake vanilla

Approximate Nutritinal Boost: 2370 IU pro-vitamin A, 30mg Vitamin C

Pineapple-Carrot

1 cup fresh pineapple
¼ cup shredded carrots
8 oz. Orange juice
2 T. Tropical Fruit Nourishake

Approximate Nutritional Boost: 5250 IU pro-vitamin A, 110mg Vitamin C

  1. Place fruits, nuts, seeds, grains and ice cubes in blender first

  2. Add pre-measured liquid such as milk, juice or water

  3. Starting at LOWEST speed, blend thoroughly—increase speed until mixture is smooth.

  4. Reduce speed to slow or moderate add 2 Heaping Tablespoons of NouriShake, Super Ease or (GR2 Control for lower carbs) and blend for 20 seconds.

This makes 18-23 ounces – great for two!
